Navarro participated as a panelist at event organized by the Canadian International Council

Canada, Dec 2020. Great conversation on global trade, investments and business opportunities in the panel titled Canada & the Indo-Pacific – what next for Canada’s global trading interests? where Mr. Juan Navarro, CMX Partnerships Director, presented his analysis on this dynamic region alongside distinguished experts and leaders in international trade. Navarro was joined in this panel by Hugh Stephens, Fellow with the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada, Brian Parrott, Associate Faculty at Royal Roads University, Phil Calvert, Senior Fellow with the China Institute University of Alberta, Margaret Cornish, Honourary Research Fellow with the Institute for Asian Research, and Victor Ramraj, Director Centre for Asia-Pacific Initiatives at the University of Victoria who moderated this this panel. This was an event organized by the Canadian International Council (CIC) Victoria Chapter and it is part of its Global Economy Agenda.

CIC branches across Canada are holding numerous events focused on Global Public Health, the Global Economy, Climate Change and Security as lead-up to the national virtual event “Foreign Policy By Canadians”, which will be held in February 2021. The aim of CIC Victoria’s Global Economy focused events is to address the current state of Canada’s international trading relations, with a focus on the Indo-Pacific, and determine what strategic economic pivots might exist that could permit Canada to better safeguard its national interests while also promoting its values.
